The short version: Be 18+, be yourself, be decent. Everything you post lives for one night and is permanently deleted at 3:00 — don't expect us to recover it, because we can't. Harassment or fake profiles end your account.
1. Agreement
By creating an account or using Purge, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use Purge.
2. Who can use Purge
You must be at least 18 years old. We verify your date of birth at sign-up; accounts belonging to minors are removed immediately.
One account per person, registered with your own phone number, using your real name and a photo of your own face.
You may not use Purge if you've previously been banned.
3. How the service works — and the purge
Purge is a nightly cycle. You post one photo, taken with the in-app camera, with a status for the night.
Conversations start when someone replies to a status and gets a reply back. Reply counts per night are limited.
At 3:00 (local time) every night, all photos, statuses, replies and conversations are permanently deleted. This is a core feature, not a malfunction: purged content cannot be restored by anyone, including us. Save anything important (like a phone number) before 3:00.
We may change, add or remove features as Purge evolves.
4. Your content
You own what you post. You give us a limited license to store, display and transmit it — solely to operate Purge, and only until it's purged at 3:00.
Your photo must be of you, taken in the moment through the app. No gallery uploads exist, and circumventing this is a violation.
5. Rules of conduct
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. You may not:
Harass, threaten, demean or deceive other users;
Post nudity, sexually explicit material, violence, or content that is hateful or illegal;
Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your age or identity;
Spam, solicit money, advertise, or use Purge for commercial purposes;
Scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the service or other users' data.
Every profile and every chat has built-in report and block tools. We review reports and act on them — including removing content and permanently banning accounts — and where required, we cooperate with law enforcement.
6. Purchases
Purge offers optional in-app purchases (e.g. photo retakes), billed by Apple to your Apple ID. Prices are shown before you buy.
Retakes are consumable and are used when you retake your nightly photo. Purchases are non-transferable.
Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms — we can't issue them directly.
7. Safety
Purge connects real people, and we don't run criminal background checks. Use your judgment: meet in public places, tell someone where you're going, and never send money to anyone you met on Purge. Your interactions with other users are your responsibility.
8. Termination
You can delete your account any time in the app (Profile → Settings → Account → Delete Account) — everything is deleted immediately.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without refund of any purchases made.
9. Disclaimers & liability
Purge is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, for the conduct of any user, or for loss of content — deletion at 3:00 is the product working as designed. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Changes & contact
If we make material changes to these Terms, we'll tell you in the app before they take effect. Continued use after that means you accept the new Terms.
