acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using Purge, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our [Privacy Policy](https://joinpurge.com/privacy-policy). If you don't agree, please don't use Purge.
eligibility
You must be at least **18 years old** to use Purge. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older. If we discover a user is under 18, we will immediately terminate their account.
account registration
o use Purge, you'll need to create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, truthful information when registering
- Use a real photo of yourself — no avatars, illustrations, or photos of other people
- Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with anyone
- Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
the daily reset
The daily reset is central to how Purge works. Every night at **midnight (Ireland Standard Time / IST)**, the following data is **permanently and irreversibly deleted** from our systems:
- Your daily photo
- All matches made that day
- All messages sent that day
- All swipe actions from that day
By using Purge, you explicitly acknowledge and accept this. We are not responsible for any connections, conversations, or content lost as a result of the daily reset. This is a feature, not a bug — it's the whole point.
Your core account information (name, age, email, preferences) is retained until you delete your account.
user conduct
You agree to use Purge respectfully and honestly. You must not:
- Harass, bully, threaten, or abuse other users
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity
- Upload photos that are not of yourself, taken today
- Send unsolicited sexual content or explicit messages without consent
- Use Purge for commercial purposes, advertising, or spam
- Attempt to extract other users' personal information
We take violations seriously. Reports can be made directly through the app, and we review all reports.
content & photos
**Your content belongs to you.** When you upload a photo or send a message on Purge, you retain ownership of that content.
By posting content on Purge, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and transmit your content solely for the purpose of operating the service. This licence expires automatically when your content is deleted at the daily reset or when you delete your account — whichever comes first.
You represent that you have the right to share any content you post, and that it does not violate any third-party rights.
privacy
Your privacy matters to us. Our [Privacy Policy](https://joinpurge.com/privacy-policy) explains in full what data we collect, how we use it, and how the daily reset applies to your personal data.
Our backend infrastructure is provided by Supabase, operating on EU servers, and is GDPR-compliant.
prohibited uses
In addition to the conduct rules above, you must not:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or interfere with the Purge platform
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, scripts) to interact with the app
- Circumvent any security or access controls
- Use Purge in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Attempt to access another user's account
termination
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or acted in a way that harms other users or the integrity of the platform.
You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion, all your personal data is removed from our systems.
disclaimer of warranties
Purge is provided **"as is"** and **"as available"** without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs. We are not responsible for the actions or content of other users.
limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Purge and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service, including any loss of data resulting from the daily reset.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to use Purge in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, since Purge is free, is zero).
governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of **Ireland**. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts. If you are an EU consumer, you may also have recourse through the [EU Online Dispute Resolution platform](https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you through the app. Your continued use of Purge after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
