The short version: Purge is built around deletion. Your nightly photo, status, replies and chats are permanently deleted every night at 3:00 — including the stored files. We don't run ads, we don't track you across the internet, and we never sell your data. What we keep is the minimum needed to run your account.
1. Who we are
Purge ("we", "us") is a tonight-only dating app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what happens to it. Questions: support@joinpurge.com.
2. What we collect
Account
Phone number — used to sign you in with an SMS code. This is your account identity.
Sign in with Apple (optional) — if you use it, we receive the name and email you choose to share with us via Apple.
Profile
Name, date of birth, gender, and who you want to meet. Your date of birth is used to verify you're 18+ and to show your age to others. Your gender and preference are used only to build your feed.
City and precise location — used to show you people nearby. Other users only ever see an approximate distance (e.g. "2.3km away"), never your coordinates, and you can hide distance entirely in settings.
Tonight's content
Your nightly photo and status — taken with the in-app camera only (there is no gallery upload). Visible to other users until 3:00, then permanently deleted.
Replies and chat messages — visible to the person you're talking to until 3:00, then permanently deleted.
Device & diagnostics
Push notification token — so we can notify you about replies, matches and messages. Notifications are optional and controlled in settings.
Crash reports — if the app crashes, technical diagnostics are sent to Sentry so we can fix it. No advertising identifiers are collected.
Purchases
In-app purchases (photo retakes) are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details — we receive only a transaction record to verify and deliver your purchase.
3. The purge — our deletion schedule
Every night at 3:00 (local time), the following is permanently deleted from our servers, including stored photo files:
Your nightly photo and status
All replies, matches and chat conversations
This is deletion, not archiving: purged content cannot be recovered — by you, by other users, or by us.
What survives the night: your account and profile details (listed above), your block list, safety reports, and purchase records.
4. How we use your data
To run the service: build your nightly feed, deliver replies and chats, show approximate distance.
To keep Purge safe: reviewing reports, enforcing blocks, moderating content.
To verify purchases and deliver what you bought.
To send notifications you've opted into.
What we don't do
No ads, and no ad-tracking of any kind.
No selling or renting your data — ever.
No profiling you across other apps or websites.
5. Who we share data with
Only the service providers that run Purge, and only what they need to do their job:
Supabase — database, authentication and photo storage (hosting).
Expo — delivering push notifications.
Sentry — crash reporting.
Apple — Sign in with Apple and in-app purchases.
We may also disclose data if the law genuinely requires it.
6. Your rights & deleting your account
You can view and edit your profile in the app at any time.
You can delete your account in the app (Profile → Settings → Account → Delete Account). This immediately and permanently deletes your account, profile, photos, chats, replies and blocks.

7. Age
Purge is strictly for adults 18 or older. Date of birth is verified at sign-up and accounts found to belong to minors are removed.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by row-level security on our database, and location coordinates are never exposed to other users. No system is perfectly secure — if we ever learn of a breach affecting you, we'll tell you.
9. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
